We
offer a comprehensive research service. Being based in London, we
have easy access to most of the national record offices and
libraries, such as the Public Record Office, British Library and
Family Records Centre.
Clients'
research requirements usually fall into one of two categories.
Firstly a specific search or limited research enquiry. Or
secondly, a full genealogical or other historical research service.

Specific
search or limited research enquiry
If
you only require a single source investigated - for example a birth
certificate, army record or census entry - or if you requirement is
for a limited amount of research - at The National Archives, Family
Records Centre or elsewhere - then we offer a reasonably priced
research service.
Although
we are happy to advise on the possible time that may be involved in
a particular search, it is sometimes difficult to state beforehand
precisely how long any such search will take. Therefore, following
discussion, it is usually suggested that clients state a fixed amount
that they are willing to spend and research will only be carried out
within that limit - not necessarily up to it.
Photocopies,
certificates etc. are charged for at cost, and where readily
available these will be obtained in preference to a transcription
being made. All searches will be returned by First Class post and no
SAE is required. Overseas clients are asked to add £2.50 to
cover the cost of airmail postage.
All
research is charged at the rate of £25.00 per hour (or pro
rata). This covers actual research and reporting only: no charge is
made for travelling to London repositories or The National Archives.
There is a minimum charge of £25.00 per report.
All
payments for research must be made in advance. Preferably, this
should in pounds Sterling by International Money Order or cheque
drawn on a UK bank. Cheques made out in any other local currency, are
subject to bank conversion charges in the UK. Cheques should be made
payable to Paul Blake and crossed. Payments by PayPal are also
accepted. We regret that payments by Visa, MasterCard etcetera are
not accepted at present.
Full
genealogical or other historical research service
If
you require a full genealogical or other historical research
service, this is offered at very competitive rates. For full details
of this service, including costs, please click this button.
